What Can and Can’t Be Sold at the Show

All items sold at the Nova Scotia Art & Craft Show must be original, handmade work created by the applicant.

Handmade and Original Work

  • All work must be designed and made by the applicant
  • The use of appropriate tools is expected, including modern methods
  • Designs produced or manufactured by others are not permitted
  • Resale items, including work made by other makers or purchased elsewhere, are not permitted

Product Focus and Categories

  • Applicants may apply in a maximum of two categories
  • A clear, cohesive body of work is strongly encouraged
  • A focused product line is easier to place within the show and typically results in better sales

Photo Requirements (Important)

  • Photos must clearly and accurately represent your work
  • Poor-quality, blurry, or unclear images will impact your application
  • You must submit photos of your own work
  • AI-generated or altered images are not permitted
  • Text overlays, collages, or heavily edited images are not allowed (small logos are acceptable)

Presenting updated work and new photos each year is a REQUIREMENT.

Manufacturing and Production Limits

  • Bulk or factory-manufactured items are not permitted
  • Computer-cut vinyl applied to mass-produced resale items is not permitted
  • Vinyl may be used as a decorative element on an otherwise handmade item

Copyright and Original Design

  • Work must not infringe on copyrighted or trademarked material
  • Reproductions of copyrighted images without proper legal permission are not permitted

The following are not permitted at the show:
