Before You Apply
Please read this page before submitting an application.
- This is a curated show, not first come, first served.
- We receive far more applications than available spaces (typically around 200+ applications for 60 spots).
- Applying does not guarantee acceptance.
- Categories are balanced, so even strong work may not be selected if a category is full.
- Not being selected does not mean your work isn’t good — it means it wasn’t selected for this year’s show.
How the Selection Process Works
All applications are reviewed after the application deadline.
Applications are grouped by category and reviewed alongside similar work.
Multiple factors are considered, including:
- Craftsmanship
- Originality and cohesion
- Marketability
- Professionalism and presentation
- Photo quality (this matters more than people expect)
Some categories are more competitive than others. Final decisions are made after reviewing all applications — not as they come in.
Your Photos Matter
Your photos are one of the most important parts of your application.
They are used for:
- The jury process
- Marketing and promotion of the show
If your photos are unclear, blurry, poorly lit, badly cropped, or don’t represent your work well, it will affect how your application is assessed.
Before applying, please review:
- Photo Requirements and How to Submit Them – (what to submit, how many images, and formatting)
- Application Photo Guidelines – (how to take strong, clear photos that present your work well)
Poor-quality photos are one of the most common reasons applications are not selected.
Common Application Mistakes
Every year, we see the same issues:
- Incomplete applications
- Vague descriptions of what you make
- Poor or missing photos
- Not following the instructions provided
- Including unrelated information instead of clearly describing your work
- Applying for more than the permitted two categories.
Take a few extra minutes to complete your application properly — it makes a difference.
After You Apply
- Applications are reviewed after the deadline.
- We aim to notify applicants within the first week of April (timing may vary slightly).
- You will receive a response whether you are accepted, waitlisted, or not selected.
Due to the number of applications, we are not able to provide detailed individual feedback.
Waitlist
If you are placed on the waitlist:
- You may still be offered a space if one becomes available
- Waitlist decisions are made at the show director’s discretion
- Category balance still applies
Being on the waitlist means your work was strong, but space was limited.
